Role Overview
The Tree of Peace Friendship Centre is hiring two full-time Community Wellness Workers in Yellowknife. This position supports wellness and prevention work within a First Nations community, with a strong focus on addictions-related services.
What the Role Involves
The successful candidate will bring practical knowledge of addiction issues, strong administrative and organizational ability, and a solid understanding of the historical background shaping alcohol and drug prevention and treatment in First Nations communities. Clear communication skills, both spoken and written, are essential.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should be committed to a healthy lifestyle and must have been alcohol- and drug-free for at least two years. Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counsellor would be considered an advantage. A Criminal Record Check is mandatory.
