Role summary
This position focuses on generating insurance business through an assigned relationship or channel partner in a defined area or zone. The role requires influencing the relationship partner so they can recommend Birla Sun Life Insurance solutions to their customers. It also involves delivering pre-sales and post-sales assistance to both the channel partner and customers, coordinating with the dedicated team attached to the relationship, and ensuring steady quarter-on-quarter business growth while meeting targets.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver premium and revenue targets to support overall company growth.
- Maintain regular engagement with channel partners, including multiple branch heads of the bank.
- Map all key decision-makers and share the relevant information with RH/ZH stakeholders.
- Drive organizational recognition and reward activities actively.
- Develop creative branch-level activities to improve customer penetration.
- Ensure sales and operational processes run smoothly to maximize business potential.
- Communicate process updates, rule changes, and regulatory changes through suitable training modules.
- Make sure sales calls, policy issuance, and complaint handling happen without disruption.
- Manage the open-architecture relationship to serve bank customers with appropriate products and service quality.
- Build strong knowledge of insurance products as well as bank products.
- Handle relationship management across all levels to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Identify opportunities within the allocated area or relationship to improve productivity and top-line growth.
- Find innovative ways to expand database penetration in partnership with the channel.
- Monitor FLS review outcomes with a focus on 40% activation, 2 cases per active, and 50K ATS.
- Maintain the required product mix of Traditional 50%, ULIP 40%, and Term 10%.
- Target 15% more business than TATA.
- Share inputs for new products and sales pitches based on a strong understanding of channel needs.
- Identify training requirements for both internal teams and channel partner teams.
- Review business regularly and escalate relevant information to seniors.
- Interact with customers through welcome calls.
- Resolve customer queries promptly to support timely renewals and persistency norms.
Requirements
- Strong capability to derive insurance business through bank branches and relationship channels.
- Ability to influence and align multiple stakeholders, including bank branch heads and decision-makers.
- Good understanding of insurance offerings, bank products, and the open-architecture distribution model.
- Comfort working in a process-driven environment while managing partner expectations.
- Experience handling sales support, service coordination, complaint resolution, and renewal follow-up.
- Skill in identifying business opportunities, improving penetration, and driving product mix goals.
- Ability to assess training needs and support capability building for teams.
- Willingness to work onsite in Amritsar, Punjab.
