Role Summary
Blackbird Health is hiring an experienced Contract Clinical Recruiter to join the Talent Team. The position centers on hiring healthcare professionals such as LCSW, LSW, LPC, LMFT, PMHNP, other clinical specialists, and clinical support staff. The recruiter will use a strong understanding of behavioral health hiring to build candidate pipelines and support efficient hiring in a fast-moving startup setting. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition.

- Experience supporting candidates through the full path from outreach through credentialing and onboarding
- Interest in behavioral health trends, talent acquisition practices, and experimentation with new recruiting methods and AI tools
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end recruiting for licensed mental health professionals, while also supporting other clinical and non-clinical hiring needs through sourcing, screening, interviews, and offers
- Create and refine sourcing approaches for hard-to-fill positions using healthcare job boards, professional communities, and licensing resources
- Develop relationships with schools, residency programs, professional associations, and relevant industry networks to support long-term pipeline building
- Work closely with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, caseload expectations, and ideal candidate profiles
- Evaluate candidates thoroughly, including license checks, assessment of clinical experience, and interviews focused on values and mission fit
- Monitor recruiting data for clinical roles, including time-to-fill, source performance, and retention outcomes
- Stay informed about licensing rules, scope of practice standards, and credentialing procedures across multiple states
- Partner with the talent team to improve recruiting workflows and enhance the candidate experience
- Represent the company at clinical conferences, job fairs, and networking events
- Support employer brand efforts through content, social media, and employee referral program promotion, while working with the Growth team on branding initiatives
- Contribute to special recruiting projects as the organization scales and enters new markets
Required Experience and Skills
- 3 to 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience focused on licensed mental health professionals
- At least 1 year of startup experience and the ability to succeed in ambiguous, high-change environments
- Strong understanding of clinical credentials such as LCSW, LSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, and PMHNP, including their scope of practice
- Demonstrated success sourcing through healthcare-specific channels and professional networks
- Experience with behavioral interviewing and evaluating clinical competency
- Comfort using ATS platforms and recruiting tools; Greenhouse and Rippling are preferred
- Excellent organization and the ability to manage several complex candidate pipelines at once
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clinical professionals
- A strategic, analytical mindset with the ability to design creative approaches for niche hiring needs
