Role overview

As a Cleaning Technician, you will be responsible for day-to-day cleaning work in commercial and residential spaces, helping keep each site safe, sanitary, and pleasant for occupants. This is a full-time, on-site position in Kelowna, British Columbia.

What you will do

You will carry out routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces. Your work will also include cleaning washrooms, kitchens, offices, and shared areas, while following established procedures and using eco-friendly cleaning supplies and equipment correctly.

In addition, you will restock consumables, manage garbage and recycling, and flag any safety or maintenance issues to the supervisor. Maintaining service quality at each client site is an important part of the role. You should be able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with others, while communicating in a professional manner with clients and teammates and respecting health, safety, and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing washrooms, and handling waste. You should be comfortable operating cleaning tools and equipment safely, including vacuums, floor machines, and cleaning agents, while following product instructions and safety directions.

Strong attention to detail, dependability, and a consistent focus on cleanliness standards are important. Good time management is also needed so you can prioritize work, stay on schedule, and complete tasks efficiently with little supervision.

You should be comfortable working in both commercial and residential settings and interacting courteously with clients and colleagues. The role also requires physical capability for standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying supplies, and performing repeated movements throughout the shift.

Availability for full-time, on-site work in Kelowna, BC is required, and you must be open to evening or weekend shifts when client schedules call for them. Prior janitorial or housekeeping experience is helpful but not mandatory, as training will be provided to the right person. A commitment to eco-friendly products and proper health, safety, and infection-control practices is also expected.
