Role overview
You will be responsible for delivering dependable cleaning services for a Mitie customer in Tipton, ensuring routine, planned, and periodic cleaning is completed to a consistently high standard. The work must meet the agreed service levels and follow the established cleaning timetable.
Main duties
- Complete all required training to carry out the cleaning role effectively.
- Work well both as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Follow all Mitie policies and procedures covering quality, safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Keep the assigned area clean to the required level in line with the contract, service expectations, and daily, weekly, and periodic schedules given by the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Deliver services efficiently while maintaining a high standard at all times.
- Keep cleaning equipment clean, well maintained, and safe to use.
- Flag any maintenance issues noticed while completing cleaning tasks.
- Always protect site security, including locking doors and following lost property procedures.
- Build a strong understanding of the designated area, the agreed work specification, and the time allocated for the facilities.
- Use cleaning equipment, materials, and approved chemicals correctly and with good knowledge of their purpose.
- Set a professional standard through your dress, conduct, punctuality, and attendance.
- Follow safeguarding requirements at all times and report any concerns in line with company policy.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Ensure contractors and visitors follow security and health and safety rules while on school premises.
- Develop positive working relationships with customers and look for ways to improve service and exceed expectations.
- Carry out other related tasks that are within your capability and needed by the business.

Previous cleaning experience is preferred, although full training can be provided. The ideal person will be dependable, hardworking, professional, comfortable working to a schedule, and able to work independently when required.
