Civil Inspector

About the Role

Parsons is hiring a Civil Inspector for its Dubai, UAE team. This position is focused on ensuring that construction and inspection work is carried out in line with the relevant codes, standards, specifications, and contract requirements. The role suits someone with a strong background in infrastructure supervision and a practical understanding of site-quality and safety control.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned inspection work continuously to confirm compliance with the applicable standards, drawings, and project requirements.
• Carry out civil and structural testing as needed, including soil compaction, moisture content, grading, concrete slump, air entrainment, compression tests, line and level surveys, bolt torque checks, and concrete coring.
• Oversee underground piping work to verify tightness, proper bedding, and correct grading.
• Inspect piling activities to make sure location and bearing meet project expectations.
• Review piping systems, including P&ID verification and hydraulic or other pressure testing.
• Check electrical installations for correct grounding, circuit continuity, and compliance with statutory and client requirements.
• Follow ongoing painting and insulation work to ensure the required thickness and complete coverage.
• Perform general inspection of construction labor and subcontracted activities to confirm professional workmanship.
• Confirm equipment alignment and balancing activities are completed properly.
• Contribute to quality control documentation, reports, and procedures.
• Support the creation of job safety practices and safety reporting.
• Conduct welder qualification tests when required.
• Take on other duties that are reasonably related to the position.

Requirements

• Diploma (3 years) or degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience in construction supervision for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, highways, and utilities.
• Prior UAE experience is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years in the region.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications accurately.
• Solid understanding of construction processes relevant to the assigned area.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
