About the Company
Workstream is a purpose-led company creating an integrated HR, payroll, and hiring platform designed specifically for the hourly workforce. This segment represents 2.7 billion workers, or 80% of the global labor market, yet it has historically been underserved by technology. Workstream was built from the ground up to help these businesses and their employees succeed.
The company serves well-known brands across several industries, including Burger King, Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s, IHOP, KFC, and Culvers. It is a fast-growing Series B business backed by respected investors and industry leaders such as Founders Fund, BOND, and Coatue, and it continues to expand its product portfolio in support of its long-term vision.
Role Overview
Workstream is hiring a highly capable Chief Operating Officer to act as the CEO’s main strategic and operational partner. The role is centered on helping the company evolve from a high-growth Series B organization into a globally recognized category leader.
The COO will bring together the company’s key operational pillars, connecting strategy, product, go-to-market execution, and corporate functions. The goal is to help Workstream scale with strong execution, efficiency, and a performance-driven culture.
This is a senior leadership position for an exceptional operator who is comfortable with complexity, drives accountability across the business, and turns ambitious goals into repeatable company-wide results. The person in this role will collaborate closely with the CEO, executive leadership, the board, and investors to keep global strategy and execution tightly aligned.
The ideal candidate should be both a strong builder and a disciplined executor—someone who can define direction, align leadership, and step into the details when needed to remove obstacles.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This is not a conventional administrative COO role. At Workstream, the position functions as the company’s execution leader, responsible for organizational design, cross-functional alignment, and governance systems that convert strategy into market impact.
As a major support force for the CEO, the COO will help scale not only the business, but also the leadership structure and operating system behind it.
The right candidate will be an experienced enterprise operator who blends startup speed with strong operational discipline, helping build resilient systems and support Workstream’s growth as a leading platform for the global hourly workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as the CEO’s primary operational and strategic partner, helping define the company’s rhythm and ensuring leadership alignment on top priorities.
- Coordinate across Product, Engineering, GTM, Finance, and People teams to improve collaboration, speed up delivery, and support business growth.
- Design and scale the company’s operating framework, including OKRs, business review processes, and infrastructure needed for international expansion.

- Support board preparation, investor communications, and high-level corporate reporting.
- Lead, coach, and grow the operational team while promoting ownership, accountability, and psychological safety.
- Own important strategic initiatives, expansion projects, and complex business challenges from concept through delivery.
Candidate Profile
- At least 12 years of executive-level leadership experience in business operations, corporate strategy, or general management at high-growth technology companies.

- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and bring varied global teams into alignment.
- A fast-moving execution style balanced with the patience needed for long-term company building.
