Role Summary
A leading family-run cleaning and facilities services group with nationwide operations across Ireland and a workforce of more than 2,000 people is hiring a Chief Operating Officer in Dublin. This person will act as the CEO’s main delivery partner and will hold end-to-end responsibility for operational and commercial performance.
Core Accountabilities
- Lead service delivery across both healthcare and non-healthcare client portfolios.
- Own commercial performance, including pipeline control, bid quality, pricing strategy, and protection of margin.
- Be accountable for P&L results across the business.
- Oversee the mobilisation of new contracts and major business changes.
- Drive coordination between Operations, Commercial, Corporate Services, and HSQE.
- Ensure consistent execution standards across the organisation through one joined-up operating model.
- Maintain strong control of performance, cost, productivity, and margin.
- Support high-quality, predictable contract mobilisations.
- Strengthen governance, with particular focus on healthcare settings.
- Establish a disciplined performance review rhythm across the business.
- Work closely with all Heads of Department and senior operational leaders, who will report into the COO.

Essential Experience
- Extensive senior executive leadership background, such as Chief Business Officer, COO, Operations Director, Managing Director, or a similar role.
- Proven success in multi-site, labour-intensive service businesses such as facilities management, contract cleaning, outsourced services, or healthcare services.
- Demonstrated ownership of both operational delivery and commercial results.
- Solid track record of managing P&L responsibility at significant scale.
- Experience in regulated, compliance-heavy environments; healthcare experience is especially valuable.
- History of leading organisations with more than 1,000 employees.
Critical Capabilities
- Strong commercial judgement, including understanding of pricing, margin drivers, bid risk, and client value.
- Ability to introduce operational discipline without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Integrator mindset with the ability to align multiple functions around common outcomes.
- Confident leadership style suited to frontline managers, senior executives, and major clients.
- Practical, evidence-led decision making under pressure with clear accountability.
