Reporting Line

This position reports to the Procurement Manager.

Role Overview

The Buyer will handle procurement activities by sourcing materials against technical requirements, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and budget expectations. The role also involves making sure all buying actions follow company purchasing rules and working with the category team to identify and onboard new suppliers.

This position supports the Electrification business within the Smart Power division in Nashik, India.

Key Responsibilities

• Create purchase orders in the system based on approved requisitions and standard buying procedures, then confirm deliveries and track supplier performance against purchase order commitments.
• Work with key suppliers to negotiate commercial arrangements and update pricing sheets, terms, and conditions on a regular basis.
• Prepare recommendations for framework agreements and carry out those agreements once they receive approval.
• Review and compare supplier bids to identify the best overall value.

Requirements

• BE in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, and vendor management.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical commodities.
• Practical exposure to inventory control and supplier coordination.
• Knowledge of SAP-MM will be considered an advantage.
• Good negotiation skills, communication ability, and a collaborative working style across functions.
