Role Overview

Southern Cross Construction Ltd. is looking for a seasoned payroll and bookkeeping professional to support its office operations in Bentley, Alberta. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity for someone who is careful with details, comfortable handling confidential financial data, and eager to contribute to a family-oriented startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run payroll cycles accurately and within deadlines.
  • Keep employee payroll files current and verify that records remain accurate.
  • Work out and process deductions, benefits, vacation pay, and required statutory payments.
  • Prepare payroll summaries and carry out reconciliation tasks.
  • Make sure payroll activities comply with federal and provincial employment and payroll rules.
  • Handle employee questions about payroll in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support year-end payroll work, including preparation of T4s.
  • Coordinate with accounting and administrative team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Sage 50 Payroll is mandatory.
