Role Summary
The AME Biologicals team is looking for a Biologicals Development Lead based in Lusaka, Zambia. This position sits within the commercial function and works closely with marketing, sales, and Crop Protection Development teams. The role is responsible for accelerating the growth of the biologicals portfolio by helping deliver revenue and market share goals through business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the BA marketing team to shape marketing plans and define value propositions for biological products.
- Make sure biologicals activities follow commercial rules, HSE standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Develop and roll out clear positioning and value propositions for the biologicals portfolio alongside marketing stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with industry groups, regulators, and key institutional contacts to gather market intelligence and support portfolio development.
- Plan and lead technical training programs that strengthen biologicals knowledge among commercial teams and strategic channel partners.
- Oversee demonstration activities and field trial programs so they align with crop priorities and business needs across the region.
- Work closely with sales, TMD/CPD, and marketing teams in the field to build traction for the biologicals portfolio.
- Handle technical problem-solving efforts and create preventive approaches that improve product performance.
- Support local KAMs by providing technical input for business execution with distributors and commercial farms.
- Serve as the subject matter owner for technical expertise by product, crop, or topic, while driving standardization and better ways of working.
- Ensure all operations under direct oversight comply with Syngenta’s health, safety, environment, and statutory requirements.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, business studies, or an equivalent field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and marketing is required, ideally in the agriculture sector. Exposure to crop protection and biological products is also expected. The role calls for strong people skills, the confidence to negotiate and influence others, the ability to work independently with a high level of accountability, an entrepreneurial approach, and solid presentation abilities. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary.
