Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position in Kabul is focused on producing competitive bids and proposal responses for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and other tender documents across facilities management, logistics, and civil engineering work. The role requires close coordination with technical and operational colleagues, careful review of client instructions, and the creation of clear, compelling content tailored to each submission. It also includes managing deadlines, keeping proposal libraries and templates up to date, checking compliance with internal and external requirements, and supporting market research, pricing input, and bid strategy improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare polished proposals, tenders, and bid responses that meet client requirements and submission standards.
- Review bid documents to identify scope, evaluation criteria, deadlines, and compliance obligations.
- Work with technical, operational, and commercial teams to collect accurate input for submissions.
- Draft concise, persuasive, and technically sound content customized to each opportunity.
- Track bid schedules, coordinate review cycles, and ensure timely completion of all submissions.
- Maintain bid libraries, reusable content, templates, and version-controlled documentation.
- Support pricing discussions and help shape the value proposition for each bid.
- Carry out market and competitor research to strengthen bid positioning and win strategies.
- Ensure all submissions align with internal quality standards and external regulatory or procurement requirements.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in the bid development process.
Requirements
- Proven background in bid writing, tender preparation, proposal development, or bid management, preferably in facilities management, logistics, construction, or civil engineering.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with the capacity to work accurately under tight deadlines.
- Strong coordination skills and the ability to convert technical or operational information into accessible language for different audiences.
- Well-developed organization and project management skills, including time management, document control, and deadline tracking.
- Comfort using MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with formatting templates and handling basic bid-related data analysis.
- Understanding of procurement procedures, compliance expectations, and evaluation methods used by both public and private sector clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, English, Engineering, or a similar discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a practical, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an on-site environment in Kabul.
- Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
- Experience in international or complex operational settings is a plus.
