Role Summary
The BBS Engineer will be responsible for managing bar bending schedules, coordinating reinforcement-related activities, and supporting execution teams with accurate steel estimation, reconciliation, and billing support at the Bharuch location.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare bar bending schedules based on approved structural drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Estimate reinforcement quantities and improve usage efficiency to reduce material wastage and increase productivity.
- Work closely with Design, Planning, QA/QC, and Execution teams to resolve drawing mismatches and reinforcement detailing concerns.
- Raise, track, and close RFIs related to reinforcement detailing and structural drawing clarifications.
- Secure BBS approvals from the Client or Consultant and maintain proper records of approved documents.
- Oversee cutting and bending operations in the reinforcement yard in line with approved BBS documents.
- Ensure cut and bent reinforcement is properly identified, tagged, stacked, and issued.
- Check actual reinforcement consumption against approved BBS quantities and executed work.
- Prepare and review reinforcement reconciliation statements, wastage studies, and material balance reports.
- Coordinate with Stores and Procurement teams for steel planning and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, safety standards, and schedule targets.
- Assist with billing and measurement activities connected to reinforcement quantities.
- Maintain daily and weekly progress reports along with MIS updates for reinforcement-related work.
- Support site teams during inspections, audits, and client reviews involving reinforcement activities.
Eligibility
Candidates with a Diploma in Civil Engineering or a B.Tech / B.E. in Civil are eligible to apply.
Compensation
The role offers a salary in the range of INR 50,000 to INR 70,000 per month.
