Assistant Venue Technology Manager

Role Overview

The Assistant Venue Technology Manager supports the Venue Technology Manager in overseeing technology operations for the assigned venue cluster. This role helps plan, run, maintain, and deliver ICT, AV, and ELV services so that venue activities continue smoothly and events are executed successfully.

You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, service providers, and event stakeholders to keep technology systems available, maintained, and ready for use.

Venue Technology Operations and Technical Support

• Assist the Venue Technology Manager in handling the complete lifecycle of venue technology services and solutions.
• Keep a close watch on day-to-day ICT, AV, and ELV operations across the assigned venues.
• Track outstanding incidents, maintenance work, and service requests with the venue ICT teams.
• Work with stakeholders and vendors to close technology issues within the agreed service levels.
• Oversee technical rooms, data centers, communication rooms, and other spaces that house technology infrastructure.
• Monitor ICT service performance and ensure incidents are resolved promptly through the Service Desk and support teams.
• Keep asset registers and inventory records accurate and up to date.
• Track technology equipment stored within venue facilities.
• Support both preventive and corrective maintenance for ICT, AV, and ELV systems.

Event Technology Delivery and Support

• Carry out site inspections and technical surveys to confirm venue technology readiness.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of ICT, AV, and ELV systems.
• Work with event organizers to understand technical needs and operational expectations.
• Serve as the technical point of contact between venue operations, vendors, and event stakeholders.
• Coordinate venue technology preparation activities before events.
• Provide on-site technical support during events and resolve issues as they arise.
• Support bump-in activities, including system setup, configuration, and testing.
• Oversee temporary event technology overlay systems such as network infrastructure, IPTV, digital signage, public address systems, audio-visual systems, broadcasting, CCTV, and access control.
• Ensure all event technology systems are ready and functioning before the event starts.
• Conduct post-event checks and support bump-out activities.
• Prepare technical readiness reports and post-event reports.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management

• Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, contractors, and service providers.
• Ensure service providers follow venue technology standards and operational expectations.
• Support project delivery activities and technology upgrade initiatives.
• Assist with vendor performance tracking and escalation handling.

Qualifications and Experience

This position calls for a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, along with at least 12 years of experience in ICT, AV, and ELV systems implementation, operations, and maintenance.

Experience in large venues, stadiums, convention centers, airports, hospitality environments, or major events is required. The role also expects strong practical exposure to ICT infrastructure, network infrastructure, structured cabling, AV systems, IPTV, broadcasting systems, public address systems, video conferencing solutions, CCTV, access control systems, and turnstile technologies.

Previous experience coordinating technology support for large-scale events, as well as managing vendors and multiple stakeholders, is important for success in this role.
