Role Overview

This position is centered on expanding Meril’s surgical robotics business by managing the full sales cycle for high-value capital equipment. The role involves working with hospital leaders, encouraging surgeon adoption, and presenting MISSO robotics as a strong choice in a competitive market.

The opportunity requires a solid understanding of the clinical environment, a strategic approach to selling, and genuine enthusiasm for breakthrough medtech solutions.

Openings are available in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline across hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and orthopedic clinics.
  • Handle long sales cycles while also converting near-term opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Joints Product Team to adapt sales discussions to procedural needs such as total knee, hip, and revision surgeries.
  • Shape solution messaging around each surgeon’s clinical preferences and working style.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for robotic systems, including outright purchase, lease arrangements, and service-based contracts.
  • Support buying decisions with clear ROI arguments and evidence of clinical value.
  • Present compelling business cases to hospital decision-makers across financial, operational, and clinical angles.
  • Act as a consultative partner on how robotics can improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Use clinical studies, published research, and health economics tools to strengthen the sales narrative.
  • Explain the advantages of MISSO robotics compared with competitors such as Stryker, Medtronic, and Globus Medical.
  • Coordinate with clinical demo and education teams for surgeon demonstrations, cadaver labs, and evaluation trials.
  • Build strong customer engagement through hands-on product experiences.
  • Track competitor moves, market developments, and buying patterns, and share insights to guide commercial strategy.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • At least 3 years of proven capital equipment sales experience in medical devices, ideally within robotics, imaging, or surgical platforms.
  • A history of consistently achieving or exceeding targets in complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments.
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and sell solutions in a persuasive way.
  • An MBA or other advanced qualification is preferred.
  • A pre-existing network among orthopedic surgeons and hospital procurement stakeholders is preferred.
