Descrizione del lavoro
Role overview
As the Airfield Management Shift Lead, you will oversee AMOPS activities while on duty and help ensure the airfield remains safe, efficient, and fully supportive of aircraft operations. The role calls for strong situational awareness, hands-on coordination of daily airfield activity, and close attention to compliance, safety, and operational readiness.
Key duties
You will carry out airfield inspections, verify that conditions meet safety and planning standards, and direct a range of airfield functions. This includes coordinating construction and repair work, managing the airfield driving program, supporting ice and snow removal efforts, and overseeing bird and wildlife control measures.
The position also involves maintaining and sharing essential flight-operation information such as flight information publications, aeronautical charts and maps, NOTAMs, local airfield and navigational aid status, and weather updates. You will process domestic and international flight plans and coordinate with base agencies to arrange billeting, meals, fuel, transportation, and transient aircraft maintenance support for aircrews.
Required background
Applicants should have completed an approved DoD/Airfield Managers course, or an equivalent qualification, along with aviation-related experience as aircrew, dispatcher, or flight follower with a 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 operator.
The role expects four years of relevant experience covering supervision and coordination with air-traffic control and maintenance teams, dispatching, enforcement of airfield safety procedures, flight record management, weather interpretation, flight plan processing, flight following, aircraft movement tracking, wildlife management, bird strike hazard controls, airfield maintenance and construction coordination, hazardous cargo and live-fire device coordination, emergency response, and inspections in line with AFMAN 13-204v2.
Compliance with AFMAN 13-204v1 Chapter 7 and AFMAN 13-24v2 Chapter 2 is required. You must be able to obtain and keep a US CENTCOM Medical Exam. The position also requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, which in turn requires US citizenship.
