Job Purpose
The selected candidate will be responsible for aircraft painting and surface finishing work on Air Arabia aircraft during base and line maintenance. The role is focused on delivering work that meets the required technical standards and quality expectations, helping maintain the aircraft’s appearance, protection, and operational readiness.
All painting-related maintenance tasks must be completed, documented, and submitted accurately and on time, in line with Air Arabia procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Result Responsibilities
Operational excellence
- Coordinates each assigned task card with the Engineer-in-Charge before starting, to fully understand the job scope, priorities, paperwork needs, and any cautions.
- Prepares for and performs scheduled maintenance work based on the allocated task cards, making sure the required documentation, parts, tools, and ground support equipment are collected and used exactly as instructed.
- Completes paint repair tasks as specified in the task cards, strictly following approved data, procedures, and directions from the Engineer-in-Charge.
- Obtains the correct tools and equipment from stores for the job and returns everything in acceptable condition after the work is finished.
- Provides regular progress updates to the Engineer-in-Charge and reports any issues relating to the aircraft condition or the execution of the task.
Safety
- Protects the safety of the assigned maintenance work by ensuring all required safety precautions are in place before work begins and throughout the task.
- Actively safeguards self and others in the maintenance area from injury by using appropriate ground support equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Applies human factors awareness during maintenance, including following interruption controls and ensuring sufficient access and lighting for inspection and repair work.
Reputation and teamwork
- Supports internal customers by sharing useful information and assisting team members and other departments involved in scheduled maintenance activity.
- Represents Air Arabia professionally to external personnel and customers by maintaining a competent and positive technical image.
Cost awareness
- Stays mindful of maintenance costs, including time usage and material consumption.
- Works to reduce avoidable material waste and repair costs by preventing damage and avoiding repeat work.
Qualifications
- Formal training in aircraft painting.
- Good command of English, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand it for technical communication.
- Comfortable using computers, especially Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to obtain a UAE driver’s licence.
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus aircraft.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a base maintenance workshop environment.
- Sound basic knowledge of airframe and engine maintenance theory and practical application.
