About the Role

SpaceX is hiring an Accountant for its Dublin office to support the EMEA region. The role focuses on keeping the general ledger accurate and reliable while contributing to the wider finance operations of a fast-moving international business. The team supports Starlink, the broadband internet system built to deliver connectivity to millions of users around the world.

Starlink is SpaceX’s largest satellite network, made up of thousands of satellites, consumer hardware, and the software layer that connects everything together. The business is still expanding rapidly, so this position will also support new launches, new products, and ongoing commercial activity wherever technical accounting input is needed.

Key Responsibilities

You will own day-to-day accounting work for the EMEA region and help ensure close processes run smoothly across month-end, quarter-end, and year-end cycles.

  • Handle daily general ledger activity, including bank reconciliations and the preparation, posting, and review of journal entries.
  • Support close activities for EMEA entities at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end, including accruals, prepayments, bank entries, VAT/GST, corporate tax, intercompany transactions, and other internal accounting requirements.
  • Prepare and keep balance sheet reconciliations current across areas such as bank, intercompany, VAT, fixed assets, prepayments, and accruals.
  • Track down and clear reconciling items promptly.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and variance or flux analysis.
  • Support external audit requests, including PBC schedules and audit documentation.
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and desktop process documentation.
  • Spot opportunities to improve processes and help implement efficiencies such as automation and system enhancements.
  • Coordinate with outsourced providers for countries where local books must be prepared, support local financial statements, and work with local auditors to complete subsidiary audits where regulation requires it.
  • Provide day-to-day finance support across EMEA and contribute to ad hoc finance projects as needed.
  • Work closely with teams across operations, policy, commercial, legal, customs, treasury, finance, and tax, along with other stakeholders.
  • Support new business launches, new initiatives, and new products by providing specialist accounting guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, finance, or a business-related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of combined accounting or audit experience gained in public accounting and/or a multinational company.
  • 3 or more years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting is preferred.
  • Finalist or recently qualified chartered accountant status is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and some exposure to US GAAP.
  • Experience using financial statement preparation and review tools such as Workiva is preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.
  • Comfortable handling multiple tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to collaborate with global teams and communicate effectively with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a startup-style environment.
  • Capable of meeting several tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
  • Experience with major ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or Workday.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Current right to work in Ireland is strongly preferred.
  • The role is based onsite in Dublin, Ireland; remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.
