Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position in New York, NY focuses on handling financial and customer service activities tied to university accounts. The Account Specialist manages assigned accounts, tracks transactions, performs reconciliations, and helps ensure work is carried out in line with applicable policies and procedures.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee designated accounts and keep account activity up to date.
- Review transactions and reconcile records accurately.
- Respond to questions from internal teams and outside partners.
- Provide accurate and timely account details when requested.
- Support resolution of billing concerns and service-related issues.
- Prepare reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting tasks.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and service quality.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and maintain documentation needed for operations and audit readiness.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong analytical ability to assess data, spot patterns, and support sound account and finance decisions.
- Clear and professional communication skills for working with students, colleagues, and external contacts.
- Basic finance knowledge, including budgeting, reconciliation, and financial reporting fundamentals.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries and resolve concerns effectively.
- Account management capability to monitor multiple accounts and follow through on action items.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools and financial systems is helpful.
- Excellent organization, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
