Role overview
We are seeking an Academic Researcher to support the development of next-generation AI systems through rigorous, high-quality research input. In this remote contract role, you will contribute evidence-based insights that help improve how models learn, reason, and perform in real-world scenarios.
Core responsibilities
- Carry out detailed research within your subject-matter area and turn findings into well-supported, high-quality insights.
- Draft, format, and review complex Word and PDF documents, including the use of tracked edits, form completion, and data extraction tools.
- Work with teams across legal, healthcare, policy, and finance functions to support a variety of project requirements.
- Convert advanced research findings into concise reports and presentations that meet Fortune 500-level standards.
- Review and combine academic papers, legal materials, and industry information to guide project decisions.
- Make sure all written outputs remain accurate, consistent, and aligned with the required guidelines.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with project stakeholders and internal team members in both written and spoken form.
Required background
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in academic research, legal work, policy, healthcare, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree, PhD, or JD from a recognized institution.
- Strong hands-on experience reviewing and preparing Word and PDF files, including tracked changes, formatting, document review, and data extraction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Comfort working on multiple priorities in a remote, deadline-focused setting.
- Experience contributing to multidisciplinary teams on complex deliverables.
- A history of producing polished, client-ready work.
Preferred experience
- Exposure to working with or for Fortune 500 organizations.
- Background in document workflows related to legal, healthcare, policy, or financial operations.
- Published or presented work in academic or industry settings.
