Interior Design Intern

About the internship

This internship is designed for someone who wants hands-on exposure to interior design along with real site execution work. You will be involved in everything from understanding client needs to preparing layouts, coordinating on-site, and helping ensure the project is delivered smoothly.

What you will do

• Gather client inputs, understand space requirements, and align on design intent, budget, and timelines.
• Visit project locations for measurements when needed.
• Prepare 2D plans in AutoCAD and develop 3D visual concepts using SketchUp, V-Ray, or Lumion.
• Plan spaces in a way that balances usability and visual appeal.
• Work on modular furniture design for wardrobes, beds, kitchens, and similar elements.
• Create execution-ready detailed drawings and support selection of finishes, laminates, hardware, and related materials.
• Assist with BOQ preparation, estimating costs, and budgeting support.
• Coordinate with the purchase team during material selection.
• Visit sites regularly to check execution quality and design implementation.
• Work closely with site supervisors, carpenters, and vendors to resolve on-site design issues.
• Present concepts to clients, revise drawings based on feedback, and help close approvals before execution.
• Track project progress, follow timelines, and maintain documentation for drawings and revisions.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be available for a full-time, in-office internship.
• Candidates should be able to start between 25 June 2026 and 30 July 2026.
• The internship duration is 4 months.
• Relevant skills and interest in interior design are expected.
• Basic site experience is preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with modular furniture and carpentry detailing will be an advantage.
• Comfort with site visits and coordination with labour or vendors is required.
• Practical knowledge of plywood, laminates, hardware, and finishes is important.
• Strong communication skills for client-facing interactions are needed.
• Candidates who can manage both design and execution responsibilities will be preferred.
• A fast-learning, adaptable mindset is expected.
• Having a personal laptop with AutoCAD and SketchUp installed is preferred.
