Truck Driver

Overview

SAFEX TRANSPORT is hiring a full-time truck driver in Vaughan, Ontario. This position is based at the worksite, and all duties must be carried out in person; remote work is not available.

Language Requirement

English is required for this role.

Education

A secondary school graduation certificate is required.

Experience

No prior experience is strictly required; having experience is considered an asset.

Key Duties

• Handle the loading and unloading of cargo.
• Secure any special permits and transport documents needed for international freight movement.
• Drive straight or articulated trucks to move goods and materials.
• Check vehicle condition and monitor components such as tires, lights, brakes, refrigerated storage, and related equipment.
• Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections while overseeing the overall condition of the vehicle.
• Communicate updates and information to central dispatch.
• Secure cargo with tarping and maintain the safety and protection of the load.

Licences and Credentials

• AZ class licence.
• Air brakes endorsement.
• Class 1 or Class A driver’s licence.

Documentation Knowledge

• Accident or incident reports.
• Bill of lading.
• Driver logbook.
• Pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspection reports.
• Trip reports.

Additional Information

A valid driver’s licence is required. The job involves a physically demanding workload with frequent sitting, repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, and a large amount of work. Strong attention to detail is important.
