Technical Business Analyst (Cloud)

Role overview

This is a practical, hands-on Technical Business Analyst position for someone who enjoys partnering with engineering teams to shape cloud-based digital products delivered in an agile environment.

What you will do

• Drive discovery and requirement sessions for digital products and platforms, collaborating with business users, engineers, architects, and delivery teams to clarify needs, constraints, and solution choices.
• Convert business, operational, and policy needs into well-structured functional and technical deliverables such as product requirements, user stories, process diagrams, data models, and integration documents, while maintaining clear traceability throughout delivery.
• Examine complicated business and system challenges through process mapping, data investigation, and impact analysis, then propose workable solutions that account for user expectations, technical practicality, cost, and cloud architecture factors.
• Serve as the link between business and technology groups in agile projects, contributing actively to sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
• Assist solution design for cloud-hosted systems by working with technical teams on requirements tied to infrastructure, security, scalability, performance, and integration with enterprise platforms.
• Plan and carry out user acceptance testing and validation approaches, aligning stakeholders to confirm that deliverables meet business, technical, compliance, and quality requirements.
• Partner with development teams after launch to monitor production behaviour, review user feedback and system metrics, and help improve digital products continuously.
• Spot opportunities to improve digital services, data usage, and ecosystem-based solutions, supporting longer-term product and portfolio direction.
• Use and refine business analysis methods, tools, and standards to strengthen organisational delivery practices and overall maturity.

Required experience and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5 to 8 years of business analysis experience, including work on enterprise-scale, technology-led systems.
• Proven background as a Technical Business Analyst collaborating with engineering and cloud-focused teams.
• Good working knowledge of cloud concepts and hosting models such as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, along with APIs, integrations, environments, security, and non-functional requirements.
• Practical experience in Agile or Scrum delivery teams, including familiarity with key ceremonies and artefacts.
• Experience with gap analysis, impact analysis, and dependency analysis in complex or multi-system settings.
• Exposure to low-code or no-code platforms and Whole-of-Government platforms such as Singpass, Corppass, Myinfo, or government commercial cloud solutions is beneficial.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence in working with business leaders, technical specialists, and external partners.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Comfort using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and other agile delivery/documentation systems.
• Fast learner who can quickly understand new domains and technologies and perform well in changing, complex environments.
