Senior Director, Program Management

Role overview

An innovative biotechnology organization is looking for a Senior Director of Program Management to steer late-discovery to early-clinical development programs. This role sits at the center of cross-functional execution, turning program strategy into clear plans, timelines, and milestones while keeping R&D teams aligned across nonclinical, clinical, regulatory, and CMC workstreams.

What you'll do

• Own integrated planning and day-to-day execution for several development programs.
• Build alignment across functions and help guide governance and key decisions.
• Track schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and resourcing needs.
• Develop concise program status materials for executives and other stakeholders.
• Work closely with internal teams, outside consultants, and CRO partners.
• Set up and improve operating processes and practical best practices that make program delivery more efficient.

What we're looking for

• A PhD in a relevant scientific field is preferred along with at least 5 years of biotechnology experience.
• A Master's or Bachelor's degree may also be considered if paired with 8+ years of program management experience.
• PMP certification is an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with small-molecule drug development programs is required.
• A strong record of leading cross-functional drug development efforts is expected.
• Background supporting regulatory submissions and development-stage programs is important.
• Solid understanding of nonclinical, clinical, regulatory, and CMC functions is needed.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across functions and thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting is essential.
• Experience in emerging biotech companies is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet is preferred.
