Role overview
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Sales Account Executive to join the New Zealand sales team in Auckland. Reporting to the National Sales Manager NZ, this position is central to maintaining, expanding, and strengthening an existing customer portfolio, while also assisting Key Account Managers on larger business opportunities.
At the start, the role will place emphasis on building solid product knowledge, getting comfortable with internal systems, and developing confident customer communication. You will oversee a defined account base, encourage repeat business, uncover growth opportunities, and make sure all sales activity is accurately captured and moved forward. This is a strong opportunity for someone aiming to grow a long-term sales career in a structured, high-performing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Look after and expand a portfolio of current customer accounts.
- Partner with Key Account Managers on sales initiatives and high-priority opportunities.
- Maintain consistent customer engagement through planned call cycles.
- Spot opportunities to increase business share within existing accounts.
- Meet monthly and annual sales goals across the assigned portfolio.
- Record customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline updates in Salesforce.
- Work alongside Commercial Excellence to improve pricing and margin performance.
- Arrange quotations, samples, and internal coordination to support customer requirements.
- Protect customer relationships and support retention through proactive account management.
Skills and experience required
- Background as a Sales Representative or Key Account Manager.
- A tertiary qualification in commerce or business.
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or packaging would be an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication with a consultative, solution-oriented style.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Commercial judgment and a strong focus on outcomes.
- Comfort using CRM platforms, sales systems, and structured sales processes.
- A positive, energetic, self-starting approach with openness to learning and growth.
