About the company
TEKsystems and TEKsystems Global Services are part of Allegis Group and provide business and technology services that support transformation for clients. The organization works with a large global customer base across North America, Europe, and Asia, offering strategy, design, execution, and operational solutions that help businesses adapt and grow.
Role overview
The Sales Development Representative 2 (SDR-2) is an entry point into the sales process and focuses on early-stage business development. The role includes completing a structured 10-week hands-on training program covering online learning, sales role-play, and live selling scenarios before taking on day-to-day outreach and lead development activities.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will research targeted prospects, prepare call sheets, track incoming leads, and create customer profiles to support outreach efforts. You will also contact prospective customers, maintain weekly activity records, and work with internal leaders to identify inactive accounts and generate new meeting opportunities.
The position also creates a pathway to an Account Manager role for successful performers. That next step may involve managing customer relationships, growing market share, meeting prospects, preparing proposals, and coordinating with delivery teams to match client needs with suitable IT talent.
Training and growth
The company highlights structured sales training, mentorship from an assigned Account Manager Lead, a clear career path in sales, and opportunities for continuing education and education assistance. The culture is described as collaborative, dynamic, and diverse.
Compensation and benefits
The base pay for this position is $60,000, along with weekly commission and performance-based bonuses paid quarterly and annually. After promotion to Account Manager, monthly car and cell phone allowances become available. The employer also emphasizes uncapped earning potential through commission.
Qualifications
Applicants should have one of the following educational or background profiles: a bachelor’s degree, military experience, an associate degree plus 3 years of full-time professional experience, or 4 years of full-time professional experience. In addition, candidates need at least 1 year of sales experience, or a degree in sales, or sales internship experience, or active participation in a collegiate sales club or organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, especially for negotiation and client conversations. The role also calls for professionalism, urgency, presentation ability, resilience, collaboration, and a willingness to learn quickly.
Equal opportunity statement
All qualified applicants are considered without discrimination based on race, genetic information, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
