Job Summary
The Safety Supervisor will oversee Health, Safety, and Environment practices at a solar project site. The role focuses on putting HSE controls into action, tracking compliance, and making sure site activities follow legal requirements, company standards, and client safety rules. A key goal is to support a zero-incident workplace and keep conditions safe for everyone on site.
HSE Compliance and Implementation
- Put project-level HSE plans, procedures, and method statements into practice.
- Make sure all work follows local safety laws, client expectations, and company HSE requirements.
- Carry out daily inspections across the site and flag unsafe acts or unsafe conditions.
- Verify that all personnel use PPE correctly and consistently.
Risk Assessment and Control
- Prepare and review Job Safety Analyses and risk assessments for site tasks.
- Spot hazards linked to solar installation, electrical work, working at heights, lifting operations, and excavation.
- Recommend practical controls and ensure they are implemented.
Site Monitoring and Supervision
- Track site work activities including solar panel installation, mounting structure erection, DC and AC electrical work, inverter installation, cable laying, and trenching.
- Immediately stop any unsafe work practice when required.
Training and Awareness
- Deliver HSE inductions for workers, subcontractors, and site visitors.
- Organize toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Help build and maintain a strong safety-first culture among the workforce.
Incident Management
- Report, investigate, and document accidents, near misses, and unsafe situations.
- Prepare investigation findings and corrective action plans.
Documentation and Reporting
- Keep HSE records, permits, checklists, and inspection logs up to date.
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
- Support audits and formal inspections.
Emergency Preparedness
- Make sure emergency response arrangements are in place.
- Carry out mock drills for events such as fire, electric shock, and fall rescue.
- Confirm that fire-fighting and first-aid equipment is available and properly maintained.
