About the Role

This full-time, non-management engineering and facilities position is based in Dubai Marina, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role is centered on keeping guest rooms, building systems, and general property areas operating smoothly while delivering dependable service aligned with hotel standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Handle guest repair requests promptly and work with guests or customers to resolve maintenance concerns.
  • Carry out preventive upkeep on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Inspect tools, machines, and other equipment visually to spot issues early.
  • Move and use required equipment such as tools and radio devices, and identify all shut-off valves and utility shut-offs for the building and equipment.
  • Track maintenance stock, and request spare parts and supplies when needed.
  • Share daily progress, incidents, and outstanding issues with other shifts using approved communication methods.
  • Build working knowledge of systems such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building operations.
  • Complete surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood-trim fixes, light-bulb and A/C filter replacement, and full cleanup after repair or painting work.
  • Test, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, lamps, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switches, outlets, and similar equipment.
  • Program televisions and complete routine housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout process before starting maintenance work.
  • Repair interior and exterior landscaping elements, including sprinkler systems.
  • Use basic computer tools for tasks such as entering air-handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.

  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, and injuries as soon as they occur.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications, and store flammable materials correctly.

  • Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier items with help; climb stairs, ramps, and ladders; and reach, bend, twist, stoop, and pull as needed.
  • Use computers to enter and locate work-related information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
  • Some background in general maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience with interior and exterior surface preparation and painting is preferred.
  • Prior hotel engineering or maintenance experience is an advantage.
  • A driver’s license is required.
  • No previous supervisory experience is needed.
