Role overview
Zaxbys is looking for an Assistant Manager to help keep the restaurant running smoothly in Augusta, Georgia. In this position, you will support a guest-focused, high-energy dining environment while making sure daily operations meet the company’s standards for service, cleanliness, and product quality.
The role is centered on leading the team, maintaining process compliance, and helping create a positive experience for both guests and employees.
Compensation
The pay for this position is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour.
What the role involves
- Oversee everyday restaurant operations and make sure procedures, policies, and standards are followed consistently.
- Support guest satisfaction by helping the team deliver experiences that meet or exceed expectations.
- Train, coach, and develop team members, including ongoing support and performance improvement.
- Build schedules in line with company expectations and local labor rules.
- Assign shift duties, communicate expectations clearly, and adjust staffing or priorities as needed.
- Guide the team with leadership, coaching, and motivation so quarterly goals can be achieved.
- Keep standards for service, food quality, and cleanliness in place at all times.
- Share performance issues with the General Manager and help with reviews, mentoring, and development.
- Foster a respectful, positive workplace through recognition and leading by example.
- Address and document guest, employee, and injury-related concerns in a prompt and professional way.
- Use management tools and maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date records.
- Support safe work practices and ensure all safety guidelines are being followed.
- Escalate HR, risk, and other operational concerns to the appropriate manager when needed.
- Take on additional duties required to keep restaurant operations functioning effectively.
Training and compliance
- Complete the required training plan for Assistant Managers.
- Finish Food Safety Certification and Manager Certification requirements.
- Attend any other training required by Zax LLC.
- Follow all company, franchising, federal, state, and local rules, policies, and procedures.
Working conditions and physical requirements
- Be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, crouch, or climb, including using ladders.
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Use hands and wrists continuously for grasping and detailed tasks.
- Communicate clearly through speaking, reading, and writing.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to what is happening in the work environment.
- Work around temperature changes and common food allergens.
- Use restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.

Schedule and availability
This position requires open availability and the ability to work at least 5 days per week, totaling 32 to 48 hours weekly. The schedule may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
