Role overview
The Institute of Geo-Hydroinformatics at Hamburg University of Technology is looking for a Project Manager to support an EU Horizon Europe Mission initiative involving 19 partner organizations across Europe. In this role, you will work closely with the project coordinator and the SaliNova consortium to keep collaboration running smoothly, ensure administrative and financial compliance, maintain reporting quality, and help steer project governance and quality management.
The position is based in Hamburg and is fixed-term. It is offered at 60% working time, with employment beginning on 01.09.2026 and continuing until 30.06.2030. Compensation is aligned with EG 11 TV-L.
Key responsibilities
Your main focus will be the administrative and organizational management of a European research project with multiple international partners. You will also contribute to financial, contractual, and reporting processes, coordinate communication and dissemination activities, maintain project data and documentation, and assist project leadership with day-to-day organizational matters and other project-related duties as needed.
Candidate profile
The university is seeking someone with a Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in management, public administration, environmental sciences, engineering, social sciences, research administration, or a related subject. Previous experience in project management, coordination, reporting, and communication within complex institutional settings is strongly preferred, especially where EU or international funding programmes are involved.
Applicants should bring excellent written and spoken English, strong organizational and coordination abilities, and the confidence to handle multiple responsibilities in a structured and detail-oriented way. A service-minded approach, initiative, and the ability to work solution-focused are also important.
What the employer offers
This role comes with an engaging, collegial and appreciative work environment. Benefits include 30 days of annual leave, convenient public transport access, a company pension scheme, and capital-forming benefits.
