Role Summary

The Project Director will provide senior-level leadership for major EPC projects across the organization. This position is accountable for guiding projects from initiation through completion, with responsibility for scope, schedule, and budget performance. The role also includes setting project objectives that support broader company goals and reflect the organization’s vision.

Stakeholder Management

This role requires close coordination with a wide range of stakeholders, both inside and outside the business. The Project Director will serve as the main point of contact for clients, executives, partners, department heads, team members, and other project stakeholders, while ensuring clear communication and regular reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The position also acts as the key communication link between the board and management.

Team Leadership

The Project Director will guide and support key project personnel, build a collaborative working environment, and strengthen team performance. Responsibilities include allocating responsibilities based on individual strengths and weaknesses to improve efficiency, accountability, and overall project delivery.

Risk Management

The role involves identifying project risks, assessing their impact, and creating practical mitigation plans. It also requires prompt resolution of issues as they arise, along with escalation of significant risks or concerns to senior leadership when needed.

Contract and Claim Management

The Project Director must have a solid understanding of the contract being executed, including the rights, obligations, scope, and terms and conditions agreed for the project. This includes ensuring the team clearly understands contractual commitments and that risks are reduced in line with legal, regulatory, and business requirements to protect the company’s interests.

Financial Management

This position is responsible for building and managing project budgets, preparing forecasts, and analyzing variances. The Project Director must ensure projects remain within approved financial KPIs, while also managing vendor relationships and, where needed, negotiating contracts and agreements.

Planning and Execution

The role includes leading the creation of detailed project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures. The Project Director will ensure the project follows established internal processes and methods, monitor progress against milestones and deliverables, allocate resources effectively, and provide updates and performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Quality Assurance

The Project Director is expected to make sure deliverables comply with contract requirements and the company’s quality expectations. This includes applying quality control practices, carrying out project audits, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and share those improvements across the organization.
