Role overview
Mott MacDonald is expanding its Advisory team in Auckland and is seeking a Project Controller to help deliver major infrastructure work across New Zealand. This position offers the chance to develop capability in project controls by working across cost, schedule, and performance from the outset.

This opportunity is well suited to someone with experience in project coordination, project administration, or early project controls who is ready to progress into a broader controls role.
What the role involves
In this role, you will help project teams plan, monitor, and report on delivery performance. You will work alongside project managers, engineers, and other specialists to support projects being completed on schedule, within budget, and to the expected standard.
- Help establish and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Contribute to project reporting and tracking of performance
- Watch project progress and flag emerging risks or issues
- Assist with cost monitoring, forecasting, and change control
- Use tools such as Excel, MS Project, and Power BI to support analysis and reporting
- Work collaboratively with project teams and clients to support successful delivery
About you
The ideal candidate has experience in project coordination, project administration, or project controls. Exposure to infrastructure, engineering, or consulting settings is preferred, though not essential.
You should bring strong attention to detail, the ability to handle several priorities at once, comfort working with data and reporting tools, and good communication skills. A collaborative approach and a desire to build a career in project controls are important.
