Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Production Engineer position in Umm Al Quwain. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day manufacturing activity for prefabricated building systems and making sure production schedules are met without compromising quality. The role calls for process improvement, coordination with different teams, equipment and workflow monitoring, and corrective action implementation to reduce waste and increase efficiency. It also includes documentation upkeep, support for continuous improvement efforts, adherence to safety and compliance standards on the shop floor, and collaboration with management on capacity forecasting, resource planning, and new product launches.
Key Duties
- Oversee daily production operations and ensure manufacturing targets are achieved on time.
- Improve and refine production methods to support better output and smoother workflows.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to keep operations aligned.
- Track equipment performance and production flow to spot delays or issues.
- Introduce corrective measures that help reduce waste and raise efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production records and technical documentation.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement programs and operational enhancements.
- Make sure shop-floor activities follow safety rules and regulatory requirements.
- Assist management with capacity planning, resource allocation, and preparation for new products.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant should have a strong background in production engineering, preferably in manufacturing or prefabrication settings. The role requires strong analytical ability, planning skills, quality-focused thinking, and clear communication. Experience with lean practices, 5S, ERP/MRP systems, CAD, or similar tools will be considered an advantage. Candidates must be ready to work on-site in Umm Al Quwain and perform effectively in a fast-moving, target-oriented production environment.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Practical experience in manufacturing or prefabrication operations.
- Ability to analyze production information, identify process bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
- Knowledge of production planning, including scheduling, workload distribution, and workflow control.
- Understanding of quality control methods, inspections, and corrective or preventive actions.
- Strong communication skills for dealing with production teams, supervisors, and management.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar continuous improvement systems is beneficial.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP software, CAD, or basic layout tools is helpful.
- Willingness to work on-site in Umm Al Quwain and adapt to a demanding manufacturing setting.
