Product Owner

Role overview

This position is for an experienced Product Owner to guide the creation and improvement of digital products in a demanding, customer-centric setting. The role is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and requires on-site attendance five days a week. It is offered as a 12-month contract.

The selected professional will help shape the product direction, set priorities, and work closely with business teams, developers, designers, and QA specialists to turn business needs into practical product outcomes that support wider strategic aims.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the product backlog and keep it organized, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives.
• Set out a clear product vision and roadmap, and communicate it effectively to stakeholders.
• Run Agile activities such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Partner with engineering, design, QA, and business teams to deliver enhancements and new product capabilities.
• Gather, assess, and document business needs, then convert them into user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Decompose complex workflows into clear product requirements and executable development tasks.
• Prioritize features using business value, customer impact, and strategic importance as decision factors.
• Track product performance, KPIs, customer satisfaction indicators, and user feedback to support ongoing improvement.
• Ensure smooth communication between technical teams and business stakeholders so expectations and execution stay aligned.
• Use tools such as Jira, Miro, and Figma to coordinate work, visualize ideas, and monitor delivery.

Experience and skills

• At least 3 years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Analyst, Product Manager, or similar position.
• Solid knowledge of Agile ways of working, especially Scrum and Kanban.
• Practical experience managing backlogs, refining requirements, and planning releases.
• Working knowledge of Jira, Miro, Figma, or similar product delivery tools.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, with a talent for simplifying complex processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate technical details into business-friendly language and explain business needs to technical teams.
• Experience setting product success measures and using KPIs to guide decisions and outcomes.

Preferred background

• Experience in healthcare, health-tech, insurance, or other regulated sectors.
• Understanding of user-centered design and UX best practices.
• Agile certifications such as CSPO, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or an equivalent qualification.
• Exposure to heavily regulated environments and compliance-focused requirements.

Additional details

This is an on-site role in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with a five-day workweek. The contract length is 12 months.
