Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Pastefill Operator to support underground production at Granny Smith in Laverton, Western Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, operating and maintaining pastefill reticulation systems that help maintain ground stability and keep mining activities moving safely and efficiently.
You will report to the Supervisor, Pastefill, and work within a close-knit underground crew where safety, teamwork and reliability are essential. This position is FIFO from Perth and follows an 8/6 day roster and 7/7 night roster rotation.
Key duties
- Set up, run and maintain underground paste reticulation systems.
- Work on compressed air, ventilation, water and dewatering systems that support underground operations.
- Carry out inspections, preventive maintenance and prompt repairs on equipment.
- Provide handovers and practical technical support to the crew as needed.
- Help maintain strong standards of safety and housekeeping across the working area.
Experience and requirements
This role requires prior underground mining experience, with service crew and pastefill exposure considered a strong advantage. You should bring solid mechanical aptitude, confidence in identifying faults and a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement. The work is physically demanding, so the ability to contribute effectively in a team environment underground is important.
Applicants must hold a valid manual C Class Driver’s Licence, a WA Dangerous Goods Security Card and a Working at Heights qualification.
