Overview

Higgins Wellington has won a major new piece of work: the Wellington City Council Road Maintenance Contract. To support this growth, the team is hiring Operators to join the Wellington branch.

What you will be doing

• Handling excavators and other civil construction and roading machinery.
• Performing stabilised pavement repairs, dig-outs, drainage tasks, concrete work, slip remediation, and smaller earthmoving jobs.
• Backing up the crew on site and helping maintain strong safety and quality outcomes.
• Helping plan the day’s work and line up the people, plant, and materials needed.

What you need

• Current relevant licences, including Class 2 and WTR.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience operating excavators, rollers, and brooms.
• Background in civil construction or road maintenance.
• Availability to work on an on-call roster.
• Working knowledge of RAMM is helpful, though not mandatory.
• A flexible, dependable attitude and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
