Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

An advanced engineering team is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the creation of high-precision opto-mechanical systems for demanding, high-power use cases. The position offers the chance to contribute to new product development from the earliest concept stage all the way through prototyping and production, while working closely with specialists across several engineering areas.

Role summary

In this position, you will help design and develop complex opto-mechanical assemblies and systems intended for challenging operating conditions. The work covers the full product lifecycle and focuses on delivering practical, reliable, and manufacturable solutions that meet high performance expectations.

Requirements and background

• Experience creating opto-mechanical products or other precision mechanical systems.
• Strong ability in CAD-based design, along with experience in finite element method analysis.
• Exposure to optical fibre mounting, alignment, or closely related technical work.
• Practical involvement in prototyping, testing, and experimental development.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing methods, engineering tolerances, and established design practices.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
