About the Metals & Minerals Division

Bureau Veritas Minerals supports the exploration and mining industry across Australia with laboratory testing services throughout the full project cycle. Its modern laboratories are located strategically to deliver inspection and testing services across a wide range of commodities.

Role Overview

This full-time, Monday to Friday day-shift position is part of the laboratory facilities team. The Maintenance Person will help keep operations running efficiently by carrying out repairs, routine upkeep, and safety-focused maintenance across laboratory equipment and building infrastructure.

The role suits a practical, hands-on professional who enjoys solving problems, working safely, and contributing to a reliable workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative servicing and repairs on laboratory machinery such as crushers, mills, and sieve shakers.
• Complete regular checks and safe servicing tasks, including belt adjustments, lubrication, and tightening hardware.
• Look after building maintenance needs such as walls, cabinets, doors, windows, and electrical fittings.
• Handle plumbing and drainage tasks, including clearing blocked drains and maintaining water wash stations.
• Build and adapt safety cages and custom shelving to meet laboratory requirements.
• Respond quickly to maintenance issues and keep workspaces orderly, safe, and free from debris.
• Use hand and power tools safely while following all health, safety, and workplace procedures.
• Move and place heavy equipment and assist with loading sample delivery vehicles when needed.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have a current forklift licence and a valid driver’s licence, along with practical experience in equipment maintenance, facility repair, or a related trade. A solid mechanical mindset and strong troubleshooting ability are important for success in this role.

The ideal person will be safety-focused, comfortable using hand and power tools, and capable of working well in a team environment. Experience in laboratory or industrial settings is preferred, and basic plumbing or electrical knowledge would be an advantage.
