Role Overview

As a Logistics Specialist, you will help move scrap metal and recyclable materials efficiently across domestic and international routes. The role blends day-to-day execution with increasing strategic ownership over time. You will begin by learning the core fulfillment workflow and gradually take charge of logistics operations, including shipment coordination, carrier management, documentation accuracy, and issue resolution before disruptions affect business performance. Your work will directly support sales and purchase order fulfillment and help maintain the company’s competitive position.

This position calls for someone who is highly organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities can change quickly. You will work closely with customers, carriers, and internal teams such as Sales, Finance, and Engineering to keep the supply chain running smoothly. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate order fulfillment so materials move on time for both sales and purchase orders.
• Set up transportation for domestic and export shipments, including trucks, containers, and freight.
• Prepare, check, and organize shipping documents with a high level of accuracy.
• Communicate with carriers and service providers to maintain dependable shipping support.
• Track operational metrics such as pickup delays and look for ways to improve performance.
• Identify potential shipping problems early and work with the Operations team on solutions.
• Suggest ideas that help lower costs and improve efficiency as you gain deeper knowledge of the business.

• Interest in learning freight operations and building expertise in scrap metal logistics.
• Comfortable communicating by phone to solve issues quickly and directly.
• Well organized and able to juggle several priorities at the same time.
• A collaborative teammate who welcomes feedback and asks questions when needed.
• 1–3 years of experience in a tech startup, logistics, and/or operations environment.
• Working knowledge of shipping paperwork and carrier coordination, or a willingness to learn quickly.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to use Google Suite and pick up new systems with ease.
• Familiarity with scrap metal or recyclables logistics is a plus.
