Laundry Aide

Role overview

This full-time onsite Laundry Aide position in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area focuses on handling laundry services for clients, with an emphasis on cleaning, sorting, and distributing linens efficiently and safely.

Compensation

The role offers an hourly pay rate of $24.34. This amount is made up of a base wage of $18.85 per hour plus an additional $6.09 per hour Single Site Order (SSO) wage. The SSO component depends on government direction and can end at any time.

Key duties

• Separate linens correctly, then wash and dry them in line with approved laundry processes.
• Fold, count, and arrange linens neatly according to the required procedures.
• Gather used linens and send clean linens back to the appropriate areas.
• Move clean and soiled linen and other related supplies to storage and collection points as needed.
• Check linens regularly for damage, identify items that are worn or torn, and follow the standard procedure for handling damaged pieces.
• Keep both commercial and residential laundry areas clean, organized, and sanitary.

What the employer is looking for

Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry, or a similar mix of training and hands-on experience, is considered an advantage. The ideal candidate should be able to understand and follow both written and spoken instructions, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and work with laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, linen presses, and clothing labelers. The position also calls for a self-directed person who can perform well independently or as part of a team, and who is physically capable of handling the duties involved.
