About the Company
Fäm Interior is an interior fit-out specialist operating in Dubai. The team is looking for a meticulous accountant with strong analytical ability and a solid grasp of accounting and financial reporting practices, particularly in the fit-out sector.
Role Overview
This position involves handling day-to-day accounting work, supporting project-related finance activities, and ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and reconciliation across business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review financial data and compile balance sheets.
- Work with leadership and team members to build and monitor budgets.
- Follow company procedures, internal policies, and applicable regulations.
- Address accounts payable and receivable matters quickly and accurately.
- Carry out daily reconciliations for cash, cheque, and credit card transactions while keeping invoice records organized.
- Prepare financial statements in line with GAAP standards.
- Support audits, tax filing work, and maintenance of the general ledger.
- Prepare income tax filings and complete corporate reporting obligations.
- Produce monthly financial reports such as cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheet statements.
- Complete month-end closing activities.
- Estimate cash flow and manage payment timelines for suppliers and clients.
- Take ownership of accounting work related to fit-out, construction, and development projects.
- Prepare monthly progress reports and bank reconciliations.
- Accurately code and enter invoices, ensuring approvals and supporting documents are in place.
- Coordinate payment processing and secure the required approval signatures.
- Match accounts payable balances with supplier statements and resolve mismatches.
- Submit monthly VAT returns and stay aligned with upcoming corporate tax requirements.
- Track project costs, check for differences, and report variances.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Handle retention amounts and maintain project documentation.
- Protect the accuracy of the general ledger for construction and development work.
- Perform inter-company reconciliations and respond to accounting queries in a timely manner.
- Process monthly salary payments.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related discipline is required.
- A CPA qualification is considered an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under pressure are important.
- The role requires both independent working and effective teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills, strong numerical ability, precision, and a high level of attention to detail are essential.
