Food Service Worker

Role Overview

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is looking to add full-time and part-time Food Service Workers at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama. This position focuses on preparing, presenting, and serving food while supporting a clean, safe, and efficient dining operation.

Schedule

This role is available on both full-time and part-time bases. Shifts and working days may differ, with operating hours between 6:30 am and 9:30 pm. Additional scheduling details will be shared during the interview.

Pay

The position pays a fixed rate of $12.00 per hour.

What You Will Do

• Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Measure ingredients accurately for recipe and production needs.
• Move pans, kettles, and trays between work areas, ovens, and refrigeration units while following safety guidelines.
• Store food in the proper areas and follow wrapping, dating, rotation, and food safety procedures.
• Keep work areas, tools, and utensils clean and organized.
• Set out supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards to maintain quality, correct temperatures, and portion control.
• Serve guests in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Handle customer concerns and pass relevant updates to a supervisor.
• Follow company standards for service, inventory handling, and cash control.
• Comply with sanitation and safety rules at all times.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

Experience Preference

Previous experience in food service is preferred, though it is not mandatory. Training will be provided.
