Role Overview

As a Fitting Tailor with CHANEL in Abu Dhabi, you will be entrusted with delivering the House’s “Perfect Fit” promise through precise alterations, expert fittings, and a highly personalized client experience. In this position, you safeguard the integrity of each garment while adapting it to the client’s shape, style, and expectations without compromising CHANEL’s original design language.

You will work closely with Fashion Advisors and other boutique stakeholders to create a smooth tailoring journey that combines technical precision, style awareness, and attentive client care. The role contributes directly to the CHANEL&moi ready-to-wear service approach and requires strong collaboration with the RTW Sales Manager as well as the broader tailoring network.

Work Context and Reporting

This position sits within the CHANEL tailoring community and supports the Maison’s commitment to long-term client care and exceptional craftsmanship. You will report to the RTW Sales Manager and collaborate with the CHANEL&moi RTW & Ecole de la Retouche team in Paris through a dotted-line relationship, ensuring alignment between boutique priorities and technical standards.

Key working partners include the RTW Sales Manager, Operations Manager, Boutique Care & Repair, Boutique Director, CHANEL&moi market contact, the Europe CHANEL&moi RTW & Ecole de la Retouche team, and the broader tailors’ community.

Technical Expertise

You will apply advanced tailoring knowledge to ensure every garment is fitted with precision, whether simple or highly complex. Your adjustments must remain discreet, protect the structure of the piece, and reflect the House’s couture standards. You will assess garment construction, spot irregularities, and determine the most appropriate alterations using techniques shared through the École de la Retouche.

Your craft should include expert flat pinning, ribbon techniques, accurate measuring, careful sewing execution, mirror work, and close quality control throughout each fitting. You are also expected to share know-how with boutique colleagues, apprentices, and newer tailors to help preserve and transmit CHANEL tailoring expertise.

Client Relationship

You will create trust with each client by listening carefully, observing body language and preferences, and responding with reassurance and clarity. A strong understanding of how a client views their own body shape is essential, along with the ability to explain adjustments in a calm and professional way.

You must consistently deliver on fit commitments, timelines, and agreed details, while keeping the wider team informed so the alteration process remains smooth and dependable. Together with Fashion Advisors, you will help turn every fitting, including VIC appointments and special events, into a memorable luxury moment.

Style and Brand Knowledge

This role requires a rich vocabulary around tailoring and style, as well as a solid understanding of the House’s design codes. You will use this knowledge to enhance each fitting experience and to preserve the silhouette, allure, and craftsmanship associated with CHANEL collections.

You should be familiar with competitor collections and signature cuts, able to recognize standout items and better understand client preferences while reinforcing what makes CHANEL tailoring distinctive. The goal is to support the client’s style while highlighting the Maison’s heritage and fit standards.

Services and Boutique Contribution

You will play an active role in the ready-to-wear experience by being present in the RTW area whenever needed, especially during collection launches or quieter atelier periods. In addition to handling alteration services end to end, you will use available tools and data to monitor activity, understand KPI performance, and support action plans that improve results.

You will help optimize atelier workflow, manage fittings proactively, and work with boutique teams to deliver an elevated client journey. As a tailoring voice within the boutique, you will contribute ideas, insights, and recommendations that strengthen the ongoing development of the CHANEL&moi RTW program.
