Role Overview
Apptegy is hiring a Financial Analyst to help improve financial visibility and support strategic decisions across the business. This position is part of the Finance team and works closely with leaders in Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Operations to provide insights that influence investment, growth, and scaling decisions. It is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who can turn complex financial and operational data into practical guidance for business leaders.
What You Will Do
- Take ownership of major parts of the planning cycle, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Create and maintain financial models for revenue, operating expenses, and headcount planning.
- Build scenario analyses to evaluate different balances of growth, profitability, and investment.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly business reviews with clear variance and trend analysis for leadership.
- Study financial results and SaaS metrics such as revenue, pipeline, retention, and customer growth to surface patterns, risks, and opportunities.
- Convert detailed data into concise recommendations that help senior leaders and cross-functional teams make better decisions.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to go-to-market and business leaders on initiatives, resource planning, and growth opportunities.
- Support high-priority analysis and modeling for projects such as pricing, new product investment, and operational improvements.
- Improve and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and core models so decision-making is faster and more accurate.
- Help implement and optimize FP&A systems and workflows, including tools such as Pigment, to reduce manual effort.
- Build automated reporting and AI-enabled processes that improve speed, accuracy, and data quality.
- Prepare clear materials for leadership and board reporting, and help strengthen planning processes as the company scales.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, or a similar analytical role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and work with large datasets.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools, automation, or scripting such as Python, VBA/macros, or Google Apps Script to streamline finance work.
- Ability to simplify complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
- Experience working cross-functionally and influencing business decisions through analysis.
Preferred Background
- Experience in a SaaS or subscription business, including familiarity with metrics like ARR, retention, LTV/CAC, and payback.
- Experience in a high-growth environment where processes and systems are still evolving.
- Interest in or experience with generative AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Glean, or Copilot to speed up analysis and reporting.
- Exposure to FP&A platforms such as Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive, or Planful.
- Experience with ERP or CRM platforms like NetSuite or Salesforce.
- Comfort using BI tools or querying data with SQL, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools.
Compensation and Benefits
The stated compensation range for this role is $75,000 to $100,000. Apptegy offers a benefits package that varies by location.
