Role overview
This position is within the food and beverage division at a luxury hotel in Doha. The supervisor is responsible for helping the outlet run smoothly, ensuring service standards are met, and supporting a positive guest experience.
Core duties
- Coordinate with the team so service remains efficient and guest needs are handled promptly.
- Check employee grooming and uniform standards and correct any issues.
- Carry out opening and closing tasks, including preparing supplies and tools, cleaning work areas and equipment, and securing the premises.
- Review storage areas to confirm neat organization, FIFO compliance, and cleanliness.
- Track inventory, complete stock counts, and request required supplies when needed.
- Observe dining areas for seating readiness, service quality, guest safety, and overall comfort.
- Raise maintenance requests and follow up on repair needs.
- Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, coaching, counseling, discipline, and motivation.
- Act as a point of contact for the Fair Treatment/Open Door process and lead by example.
- Follow all safety, security, and company procedures, and report incidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Complete required safety instruction and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential information and company property.
- Welcome guests in line with brand standards, respond to service needs, support guests with disabilities, and show appreciation to all visitors.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests.
- Build strong working relationships and help the team achieve shared goals.
- Uphold quality standards and contribute ideas that improve productivity, efficiency, safety, quality, and cost control.
- Read information accurately in different formats, inspect equipment visually, and perform the physical tasks required during long shifts.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, or place items up to 50 pounds without assistance and move through confined, elevated, or narrow spaces as needed.
- Perform stair, ramp, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, and other physical movements required in the role.
- Carry out additional reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.
Experience and education
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of relevant work experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required for the role.
Work details
This is a full-time, non-management position based in Doha, Qatar. The role is not remote and is expected to be carried out on-site.
