Role overview

We are hiring a full-time Farmer for an on-site position in Accra. The role centers on day-to-day crop production using sustainable and climate-conscious methods. You will carry out land preparation, sowing, weeding, watering, and harvesting while keeping crop performance under close observation. The job also calls for spotting pest and disease issues early, applying sound soil and water management practices, caring for equipment, recording farm activities and output accurately, and working in line with all safety and environmental standards.

What you will do

• Prepare fields for cultivation and carry out planting and harvesting activities.
• Perform weeding and irrigation tasks according to crop and weather needs.
• Track crop condition and identify signs of pests, diseases, or other threats.
• Apply recommended practices for soil care and water management.
• Look after farm tools and equipment and keep them in usable condition.
• Maintain clear records of farm work, observations, and yields.
• Follow workplace safety rules and environmental guidelines at all times.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members on assigned tasks.
• Attend training sessions and contribute to pilot projects for new farming approaches.

Qualifications

Applicants should bring hands-on experience in crop farming, especially in land preparation, planting, and harvesting. A working understanding of weed, pest, and disease control using sustainable approaches is important, along with the ability to operate and maintain standard farm equipment safely. The role also requires basic record-keeping ability, attention to instructions, physical stamina for outdoor manual work, and dependable teamwork and communication skills. A willingness to learn climate-smart agriculture methods and participate in continuing training is essential. Experience on farms or in agricultural projects in Ghana is a plus, and at least basic education is expected; vocational or technical training in agriculture is an added advantage.
