Data Scientist Lead

Role Overview

Join Snoonu in Qatar as a Data Scientist Lead and take ownership of high-impact analytics and AI initiatives that shape business outcomes. In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise with commercial understanding to solve complex problems, influence data strategy, and help deliver scalable DS & AI solutions.

What You Will Do

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor, using data science know-how and business context to tackle complex challenges and support growth.
• Remove blockers for the team and keep delivery moving under tight deadlines while protecting quality and technical rigor.
• Build, coach, and guide a strong DS & AI team that values technical depth, business value, ongoing learning, and career development.
• Explore, assess, and bring modern approaches into production, including advanced forecasting, personalization, and generative AI.
• Contribute to the company’s data strategy by setting standards and operating practices that create lasting business value.
• Own the full delivery cycle for important DS & AI initiatives, from defining scope and designing solutions through to production release and measurable impact.
• Set the technical direction for the team and ensure solutions support the broader company strategy and stakeholder needs.
• Protect solution quality by establishing engineering best practices, reviewing designs, and offering senior-level technical guidance.
• Support experimentation and model validation using methods such as A/B tests, switchbacks, and Bayesian techniques, with a focus on business KPI impact.
• Manage deployment, monitoring, and scaling of ML and GenAI systems with attention to performance, governance, and long-term sustainability.

What We Are Looking For

• A master’s degree in Data Science, Big Data, AI, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or statistical modeling, including a minimum of 1 year in a leadership position.
• Strong command of statistical modeling, experiment design, and advanced ML/DL areas such as recommendation systems, time series, NLP, or AI agents.
• A proven record of leading end-to-end, high-impact work from problem definition to deployment, with clear ownership of business metrics and value delivery.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to set technical direction and align it to strategic priorities.
• Experience mentoring teams, raising technical standards, and improving the quality and durability of DS & AI products over time.
• Demonstrated success in guiding teams through the design, deployment, and scaling of ML/DL models in production, including real-time, low-latency, and streaming setups.
• Experience shaping strategy and leading cross-functional teams that build, deploy, and scale LLM-based applications.
• Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to design, troubleshoot, and optimize highly complex queries and pipelines at scale.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in marketplaces, delivery, or logistics technology, with the ability to combine data science methods with domain expertise.
