Role Overview

PALFINGER AG is looking for a Buyer to support purchasing activities at its Niagara Falls, Ontario location. This role focuses on managing purchase orders, supplier coordination, and procurement support for manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create direct and indirect purchase orders using demand signals, purchasing master data, and requisition requests.
• Track open orders closely to help suppliers meet delivery commitments and to address shortages or schedule slips.
• Keep purchasing master records accurate and share rolling forecasts with selected suppliers under existing agreements.
• Assist with supplier discussions, sourcing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts such as lowering costs and supporting supplier-managed inventory programs.
• Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to meet production requirements, manage new product launches, handle engineering changes, and resolve purchasing-related issues.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Hands-on experience with SAP and materials planning tools; MRP or similar systems are preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Background in procurement, supply chain operations, and negotiating prices and buying terms.
• Strong skills in organization, analysis, problem-solving, time management, and attention to detail.

Compensation and Benefits

• Expected salary range: $72,000 to $80,000, depending on experience.
