Barista

Role overview

Compass Group Ireland is looking for a motivated Barista to join the team in Kilkenny on a permanent full-time basis. The role is scheduled for 40 hours each week, working Monday to Friday during daytime hours.

In this position, you’ll prepare well-made drinks, serve quality food, and deliver a warm, efficient customer experience. The company places strong emphasis on employee growth, recognition, and an inclusive workplace where individuality is valued.

Key responsibilities

• Create consistently well-crafted beverages and serve food that meets quality expectations.
• Keep the bar service area tidy and organised.
• Handle customer payments accurately, including cash and card transactions.
• Work positively with teammates and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
• Ensure cups, plates, and other service items are clean and well stocked.
• Build knowledge of brewing techniques, drink blends, food preparation, and presentation.
• Inspect brewing equipment, confirm it is working correctly, and flag any faults or maintenance needs.
• Act as a professional representative of Compass Group Ireland and support a strong brand reputation.
• Follow food safety, handling, and hygiene procedures at all times.
• Comply with workplace health and safety rules and standards.
