Role Overview
The organization is looking for a motivated Assistant Buyer to join the Orlando team. In this role, you will support purchasing activities that keep food and beverage products available, competitively priced, and delivered on schedule. The starting pay for this position is $19 per hour.
What You Will Do
- Support the creation and processing of purchase orders while ensuring they are accurate and aligned with company procedures.
- Help source food and beverage items through approved suppliers.
- Compare pricing, product quality, and lead times to help secure cost-effective purchases.
- Coordinate with vendors to verify orders and confirm delivery timelines.
- Review suppliers for cost competitiveness, quality standards, and dependability.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers.
- Track inventory to reduce the risk of shortages or excess stock.
- Monitor incoming shipments and assist in resolving delivery delays.
- Contribute to demand planning and product availability efforts.
- Study market movements, including pricing trends in the food industry.
- Research new products, brands, and suitable alternatives as needed.
- Keep track of seasonal availability for relevant products.
- Maintain organized and accurate purchasing documentation, including vendor, pricing, and order records.
- Support senior buyers with procurement planning and strategy execution.
- Follow company policies and food-industry compliance standards in day-to-day work.
Requirements
- Strong analytical ability and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of food products and supply chain workflows.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational habits.
- Clear communication and a collaborative mindset.
- Working knowledge of Excel and ERP tools for procurement tracking.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Some entry-level procurement or logistics experience, including internship exposure, is preferred.
- Interest in, or prior exposure to, the food and beverage sector.
